She finished her Under graduation in Microbiology , Masters degree in Environmental biology at Madras university and  M.Phil in Food and industrial microbiology at Annamalai university. Also Cleared UGC NET for Lectureship. She served as a lecturer in Microbiology for 5 years. Her responsibility as Junior Research Fellow in the department includes dealing with health related aspects in the ongoing ICMR CAR project on Air pollution.
