Specialization

Dr.Kannnan Krishnan is Professor of Occupational and Environmental Health at the University of Montreal, Canada. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in areas of mixtures toxicology, health risk assessment methods and PBPK (physiologically-based pharmacokinetic) modeling. He has served on a number of expert advisory committees and as a peer reviewer for various agencies including IARC, WHO, FAO-UN, U.S.EPA, U.S.D.A., SOT (Risk assessment, mixtures and biological modeling sections), and U.S. NAS/NRC. He has also been on the editorial boards of the Journal of Toxicology, Journal of Applied Toxicology, Toxicological Sciences, Journal of Child Health, and International Journal of Toxicology; Kannan and his research trainees have received a number of awards for their contributions; notably, the Veylian Henderson Award for significant contributions to toxicology in Canada (2000) and the SOT Board of Publications Award (2003) for the best publication (focusing on PBPK modeling of worker exposure to solvent mixtures and development of an original risk assessment based on PBPK modeling results).
